This painting caught the full energy and excitement of a Juneteenth celebration at the Lake in Oakland + the debut of the Watermelon couch. What started as a live painting concluded in studio sessions as I further explored the abstract. This piece marks the beginning of an exploration and journey of the Watermelon Abstract.
