coloring book workshop overview
Presentations and Workshops
“Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.” - Albert Einstein
I have made a lot of moves in my art journey that didn’t make sense, such as deciding to be an artist in New York City without any experience or buying a 1-way ticket to Europe w/ $800 in my pocket. But it has worked out and at this point, I have a few jewels that I like to share with communities, classrooms and aspiring artists alike.
“The future belongs to young people with an education and the imagination to create.” - Barack Obama
What to Expect?
Workshop experiences can range from “festival art installation” to “studio vibes chill.” Students participate in a variety of exercises that include draw-along instructions, interactive demonstrations, and live painting.
Presentation
I share my personal story oh how I went from a business major in college to a starving artist in New York, and eventually an international artist and entrepreneur. It’s critical that students understand the importance of following their dreams and using creativity as a vehicle to manifest it.
Drawing Instruction
My draw-along exercises teach fundamental art skills students can apply to their own creative practices. I address the mindset of successful artists and encourage students to view the world through a creative lens while providing practical skills that make art “look good”. Students receive instruction in the form of games and interactive group activities.
Each Experience is Unique
Whether it’s class size, program goals, or available budget, my program is accessible for all capacities. My program is customizable to include, but not be limited to coloring book and drawing exercises, portable murals, murals, and customized coloring books.
Skill level and capabilities vary for every artist. My lessons prioritized in these workshops are to love yourself and your work. I meet the students where they are at.
I worked with East Bay Parks and Rec (shown in photos throughout this page) to create an activity book and art installation for a family celebration of their Bay Bridge event space. The purpose of the activity book was to educate children on the wildlife and geography of the Bay Area and to create a live painting demonstration for families to participate in. The activity books were given out for free to attendees and the portable mural pages were cleaned and donated to Prescott Elementary School in Oakland.
